This is the bay of Pampatar, population of the island of Margarita. As I was able to find out, Pampatar means in the Guaiquerí language "Casa de Sal" and this is due to the salt mines that it houses and that at the time of the colony were of great economic importance for the Island. The economic activity that supports most of it of the inhabitants of this area of the island, is fishing. However, tourism has allowed them to establish restaurants, art galleries, cafes and night spots.

Esta es la bahía de Pampatar, población de la isla de Margarita. Según pude averiguar, Pampatar significa en lengua guaiquerí “Casa de Sal” y esto se debe a las salinas que alberga y que en época de la colonia fueron de gran importancia económica para la Isla. La actividad económica con la que se sustenta la mayor parte de los habitantes de esta zona de la isla, es la pesca. Sin embargo, el turismo ha permitido establecer restaurantes, galerías de artes, cafés y lugares nocturnos.
