Mill from 1653 of Kockengen Holland

in #undefined5 years ago (edited)

The village of Kockengen in the Dutch province of Utrecht has got about 3500 people living in it! This Mill is build in 1653 to keep the polders dry for agriculture! This part of Holland is below sea level and without these mills they would flood quickly. Fortunately there is always wind in Holland! Today all those mills are tourist attractions and they only work if there is a volunteer showing tourists around! You can visit this mill every saterdag from 11:00 till 16:00
