Shooting Inside The Penthouse of the 2nd Tallest Residential Building in the World in Dubai

It's been awhile since my last post. Unfortunately, life pulls us in different directions sometimes. Sometimes those directions are blessings, other times they can end up being distractions. Over the time I've spent away from steemit, I've learned a lot about life, visited some amazing places, met amazing people and decided to get back to doing what I love most — traveling full time.

In the next few days I will share my experiences about where I've been, what I've learned, and where I'm going, but for this being my first post back, I wanted to share where I am now — Dubai.

Lately I’ve realized how having a regular routine can be related to happiness. Being a nomad and getting to travel / work around the world is fun, but it’s hard to keep a regular routine with constant change, so I’ve decided to switch up my pace & get on a routine.

It’s easy to underestimate how much time it takes to figure out basic stuff like where you’re gonna eat breakfast, get a haircut, do laundry, where you’re gonna work from today, etc. Add in a few flights, ubers, packing, unpacking, checking in, checking out, moving luggage, going through customs, etc — and travel days can be exhausting. Stack those often and you’ll burn out.

The biggest luxury you have if you can work remotely is not to travel around, it's to stay in one place longer. Most people can only visit a place for a week or 2, but from my experience, its best to stay in one place for 1-3 months. “Fast Travel” is fun, but it’s unproductive and tiring in the long run. You don't really get to know a place in 2 weeks, or even a month.

Right now I’m posted up in Dubai for the month. I decided to come here because I’ve been wanting to come back for awhile and after April it’s too hot to be here until it cools down in November. I’m living like a local, learning things, cookin at “home” & enjoying life. Before I got here I decided to take my rent + utilities in America and divide them by 30 (days). Then look for a hotel (with kitchen) or Airbnb for less than what I pay per day in rent in America. Now I’m currently paying 50% less to stay in an Airbnb in Dubai for a month than my apartment in America for a month. If you can save 50% in Dubai, you can save 50% anywhere. You don’t gotta be rich, you just gotta know how to play the game.
