Cebu Sinulog Festival - Preview of What to Expect at Robinsons Galleria
OLD POST:
Sinulog Festival is just around the corner. The Festival is usually held every 3rd Sunday of January, and as of this writing tourists have started pouring in the Queen City of the South, Cebu. It is supposedly a religious festival but its roots came from pagan origins. The Roman Catholics have adapted the practice and is later on celebrated in honor of one of the "Holy Child", Santo Niño.

The event is one of the most popular events here in the Philippines. However, most Christians do not participate with the practice as it is against their beliefs and the commandments of God, which is not to worship idols. Still, we can't deny the fact that Sinulog is one of the biggest Festivals in the country.
Just this morning, I had the chance to visit one of the biggest malls in Cebu, Robinsons Galleria. As expected, the mall has already started preparing for the Sinulog next week. Just to give you a few snaps of what to expect in the Festival, here are a few mannequins dressed up with the elaborate designs usually used by the Festival Queens for the street parade during Sinulog. The designs presented below showcases the creativity of Cebuanos and how spectacular the event is.
The images above are just a preview of what to expect on the actual festival. But for sure the actual event itself is more fun, more colorful and more enjoyable. If you have the time and stamina to go around during the festival, best of luck!
Cheers!
