Multi-Millionaire Bill Maher Thinks Oprah Can Beat Trump

Comedian Bill Maher did one of the most condescending New Rules segment I've ever seen. In this segment, he encouraged Oprah to run for president. (btw lol) He argues that Oprah "checks all the boxes and positively answers the question I often hear posed: Who do the Democrats have that we know can beat Trump?". He said "The only person who is a sure thing is Oprah Winfrey". How is Oprah Winfrey a sure thing and not Bernie Sanders? Bernie is one of few democrats who are running on populist issues like Medicare For All, a living wage, an end to the wars, and end to outsourcing, etc... I haven't heard Oprah even mention any of these issues. Bill took shots at Biden by saying "young people look at him like a type-writer's running for president". He also said that Bernie "is an American hero in my book, but he's another one who has his cardiologist on speed-dial". Except he has the highest amount of support among millennials. Kinda what happens when you offer free college and a living wage. He also took shots at Warren by saying she's "a three-syllable woman in a one-syllable country.". He also joked that "No one worries about Oprah being a socialist. Have you seen the home in Montecito? And that's just the guest house". Except nobody cares about labels. Republicans red-bait dems regardless of how left or right-wing they are. Obama was called a communist, and he actually said "my policies are so mainstream that if I had set the same policies that I had back in the 1980s, I would be considered a moderate Republican". The word socialist has lost all meaning thanks to the Republicans and Democrats run away from it and move further to the right only to still get red-baited. Bernie erroneously describes himself as a socialist but polls still show him beating Trump.

So what makes Oprah a "sure thing" as Bill describes? According to Bill, she can energize Democrats' African-American base, female membership, white men and that she's a celebrity. He said "Never underestimate the power of being in people's living rooms for decades. That's what got Trump elected, this is now an 'as seen on TV' country.". He also added "It's not the way it's supposed to be, it's not the way I'd like it to be, but we officially live in a post-literate, post-truth, star-fucker society and this is going to be the dirtiest campaign ever.". Make no mistake, this is what Bill thinks of the common man. Ironically not too long ago he did a segment on why Democrats shouldn't get behind celebrities to beat Trump. What happened between October 2018 and now? Bill joked that he came to this conclusion when he was self-medicating. I guess this is what happens when you're a millionaire for so long. He doesn't care if it's Bernie, Biden, Booty-judge, Warren, or Oprah apparently so long as they aren't tweeting mean things at 3AM. He can afford a $400 emergency. What he won't tell you is that besides celebrity status, Trump won because he ran on ending the wars and abolishing NAFTA, while Hillary offered nothing but the status quo. We're in a populist era and it will take an actual populist to beat a fake populist like Trump, not a celebrity.

Hey Bill, why don't you get back to dunking on blue-haired college sjws with your pal Ben Shapiro.
