My response to a very common question: Where do I see Cryptocurrencies going in the future?
I find it ironic that I'm being asked that question as I don't really consider myself a crypto-currentcy or financial expert nor do I spend a lot of time analyzing markets and that sort of thing.
In my view, the question about predicting where crypto-currencies are going is the WRONG QUESTION.
The correct question should be: What role will crypto-currencies play in the future?
In my view, what is more important than money (no matter its form) is being able to meet my own needs. The fact that the vast majority of people are completely dependent upon a vast, fragile and complex web of systems is bordering on the insane. The level of slavery that people are willing to put up with in order to plug into this matrix is equally insane. Crypto-currency are a tool and if we focus on the acquisition of wealth rather than the acquisition of knowledge, skills and good health, then we have abused the opportunities that are being presented to help us remedy the coming storm.
Crypto-currency can help us acquire the knowledge, skills, land, resources and other tools we need to become self-sufficient, self-reliant and healthy. We need the resources, tools, knowledge, experience and wisdom in order to provide for ourselves. Through the specialization and compartmentalization of jobs in the current system, the skills to put all of it together is almost gone. The skill as a generalist, one who is capable of putting all the pieces together so that it can all work and function is almost gone. Who has that skill? Homesteaders. How did they acquire those skills? Through years of hard work, trial and error, blood, sweat and tears.
So while there are lots of people interested in the performance of Steem and other cryptos, there are a group of people here who is freely and openly sharing their experiences in the hope that people will contemplate the message that is being portrayed.
I pray that Steem goes up. Waaayyyyy up. But not for the reasons most people want. I pray that it makes this platform popular as it will teach people about anarchy, gifting, peace, self governance and sharing. It will expose people to the ideas and concepts of homesteading which will plant seeds in the minds and hearts of the millions who are so dependent and truly vulnerable to any disruption of the system, natural or man made.
Steem is but a tool and if we fall in love with the tool and miss out on how to use it properly, we risk perishing with all those who refused to take advantage of the tool. I will use steem over all the others because my wallet is distributed over tens of thousands of servers all over the world but so too is the information that I'm sharing. The data is backed up and stored all over the place. The chances of all the servers being wiped out is very remote. Not like a bitcoin wallet on my laptop or cell phone.
I chose steem because the tool fits with what my intent is; to share my knowledge, make new relationships with like minded people and get the ball rolling on making significant changes to how we govern ourselves as we stand as stewards of the Earth.
Peace, freedom, prosperity, gifting, sharing and love are the only way forward. Greed will be a deadly behaviour when times get rough. So where do I see Steem or cryptocurrencies going in the future? They can provide the infrastructure to help us reach the world and to affect change like never before.
For us we hope to acquire infrastructure through Steem. Getting the things we need to push forward in the physical world. We love listening to others stories and learning how others do things. If we get too caught up with the dollar amount it will all fall apart when people turn on each other. I do believe that having our content tied to currency encourages the promotion of good content and knowledge. @freedompoint
In my view, that is a very wise strategy. I love seeing other solutions here as well. Lots of ideas floating around to choose from. Wonderful. Even if the dollar bottoms out, we still have a currency that we can use to trade with one another. We don't need the fiat if we no longer have bills to pay. We can easily switch to steem or SBD. The only reason people need to convert to fiat is the corporations that they interact with.
I am not into the cryptocurrencies as such. I am here to share what I know and to learn from others.
Exactly. Steem is a tool and we must use it as such.
Amen to peace, freedom, prosperity, gifting, sharing and love! I already see what greed can do and it is not a pretty sight and I fear it getting worse before things get better.
I chose steem because I have no initial monetary contribution, or for that matter, I never have to buy in to it as you do with all the other cryptocurrencies and block chain. I can write, blog, comment and curate; which are all things I either love doing or have learned more about (curating)... all the while earning and progressing
My overall view is:
In the end game of it all:
I love steem for those very same reasons. I can mine steem all day long because I have time and knowledge to share. Wonderful model to empower those who don't have fiat to spend. Is your final property going to be off grid at all or even partially?
Indeed Sir :)
The true beauty of the blockchain and crypto are the endless decentralised possibilities that are possible to create independence from a corrupt system which is clinging on for its rancid dear life!
The cash is also most helpful for all the free spirits, who are prepared to put in the work to extricate themselves once and for all from this travesty, and build a brighter future for one and all.

I agree. Thank you for sharing that!
Initially, I used Steem for financial gains that it can give me but as time goes by I'm liking the system and I'm very thankful that here I get to share my ideas and values and I realized that it does not actually matter if I am earning or not. The important thing is I got some audiences with critical yet open minds for those ideas here and I get to develop my thinking continuously by creating content and at the same time I learn from other users who are actually trying their best to convey their own messages and ideas.
Bravo. That is wonderful to hear. This is a great platform for the sharing of ideas, practicing how anarchy works and testing those models. Well done!
I think the great thing about crypto is that we are investing in technological progress. That's why I'm here, and for steemit in particular, to share my experience and views on life, the things I've learned that I think could help people. And of course to meet new people which has exceeded my expectations, I wish I had more time to dedicate to networking here
I spend 8+ hours a day on line and I still wish I had more time. But balance dictates that I govern myself too. lol. I'm grateful that you are here and sharing. This has been a great experience for me too as I've met hundreds of new spiritual beings and I feel blessed by it all, yourself included.
As per my POV it is in every individuals own hands how he/she uses the technolgy and it is always our inner demons who lead us to make something good or bad. Through any revolution and invention the must do thing is to learn.
Indeed. Any tool we use, no matter what it is, reflects our intent and spirit. The tool is neutral. But it is our intent and spirit that determines whether the outcomes are good or evil. Well stated.
Perfect, even headed focus here. I think so many people are treating crypto as if it were the stock market. It's not, you aren't buying ,selling, hodling a piece of a company. It's a currency that should have a real world application. I think Steem is the first crypto that currently has a real world function and is way ahead of the others. It's by no means perfect, and if the community fails to grow it in the right direction, it can fail. But it's a great tool, like you say, to share knowledge, trade, and self organize. As more of us start using as a currency, there will be less need to transact with fiat, and more opportunities will arise.
I agree and I'm working on getting local community to start trading in it. However, the problem I see is that there is still a need for Canadian Dollars. I've run into that problem myself. More work needs to be done to increase the acceptance of the currency so that we don't have to keep converting it all the time. We can just use it the way it is already.
Yeah, as long as there is a need to convert to fiat, the full potential won’t be realized. I think we’ll get to that one day. There needs to be more tools created and a larger adoption rate and we’ll get there.
For us, the future is off grid - mining steem by giving freely our knowledge and life experience will hopefully cover costs of internet, fuel etc so we can have minimum interaction with the system. i see crypto's like steem being the snowflake that crashes the system and the banks. i would not wish the consequences of this inevitable collapse on anyone, but it is required. People need a good kick in the ass to change their self destructive ways :)
I'm with you on those thoughts brother. The chaos and damage is a result of their own behaviours. They live by the sword, they may die by the sword. But it won't be me swinging it around. It will be of their own doing. Self inflicted. But that does not mean we have to participate with it.
excellent publication, brother, you are great, keep it up, you have my support
