Earth Ranger Milton and Students of the University of Bamenda on Green Radio, FM 99.0 to talk about the Earth Rangers Summer Holiday Program

Green Radio is a one hour weekly environmental radio program of @thegreens that comes up every saturday from 10:00AM - 11:00AM on Abakwa FM Radio - FM99.0. With @mr-greens on anchor as the green journalist, the program strives to educate the people of the North West of Cameroon about local and global environmental issues and inspire them to take action.

Today, Earth Ranger Milton, Tiya Belinda and Akongkwi Valerie from the Department of Geography and Planning of the University of Bamenda and Mr. Ebai Maurice who is Regional Chief of Information, Sensitization and Documentation of the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development were the main guest on Green Radio; and @mr-greens was the Green Journalist on anchor and Sah Beltus, the Audio Technian
Our main focus was to talk about the achievements of the Earth Rangers Summer Holiday Program with Earth Ranger, Saji Milton as our resource person and to talk about the achievements of the students of the Department of Geography and Planning who were on internship at the Regional Delegation of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development.

In what can be described as amazing achievements, Earth Ranger Milton narrated some of the major accomplishments of the Earth Rangers Summer Holiday Program (SASH-Program) that included;
- the Planting of 1000 trees in the Sacred Forest of Nkwen Palace, Chomba Community Forest and St Dominic Monastery
- the Organization of a plastic drive and collection of 2105 Plastic bottles which were later on recycled into tree nursery pots, umbrella buckets, vertical gardens, etc
- the Nursing of 500 trees
- the production of 50 crafts (bracelets) with environmental advocacy messages
- Learning of environmental issues and sensitization of more than 10,000 people to take environmental protection action
Belinda and Valerie on the other hand talked about their achievements that included the upcycling of 500 plastic bottles to produce tree nursery pots and the creation of a tree nursery, seminars and workshops, tree planting expeditions, and lots of exciting activities they were involved in during their two months internship at the delegation.
For one hour, we shared our experiences and inspired listeners to take action.
At the end of the program we all had a common message for our radio listeners:
