UPVOTING MANUAL - AND WHERE TO FIND YOUR UPVOTING POWER
The above is my VIP Team Australia Wirex Card. Pity it does not have any steem on it yet.
Anyway, in the past days I have been frustrated that many of my upvotes had no valuation, I did some research and I will now try to recharge my upvoting power to 100%.
Use upvoting to promote content you enjoy, earn some of the rewards from the posts by following some upvoting rules and make it more profitable for everyone.
Some rules to follow:
Read the post before upvoting it or you could be upvoting some utter nonsense.
It is recommended that you upvote your own posts.
Edited, no longer valid: When you upvote within 15 minutes you will allocate 99.94% to the author and get 00.06%.
Edited, no longer valid: When you upvote after 15 minutes you give 50% to the author and receive 50%.
Edited, no longer valid: When you upvote after 30 minutes you will receive 100% of the curation reward.

If you look in the top right hand section, you will see this:
Here you can see my voting power is now 43%. Try to keep it above 70% or many of your votes will have considerably less value than they could have.

At 15 mins any curation reward is split evenly between author and upvoter.

@avvah, This is the information I have picked up about steem upvoting. It concerns your own curation rewards, the idea being that you want to not waste your votes on things that are already popular, but are looking for content that WILL BECOME POPULAR. Have I answered to your use? Or do you still need more clarification?
