Dolphin Avatar Added on Steem Avatar Generator

Overview

For beginners in Steemit, little things like setting a profile picture are not trivial. Often, at first, someone use any random image for his profile picture and does not represent him or his content at all. In fact, the existence of a profile image is not created functionality or just a mere formality.

Profile pictures or better known as "avatar" on social media usage is an important feature as our identity and showcase in cyberspace. Avatar is very useful as a visual identity especially when someone visits our profile and when we comment on someone's post. People will likely see an avatar and account name to identify someone in social media. In fact, there is a stigma that accounts without an avatar can be suspected that the account is unofficial or inactive.

Therefore, an avatar maker application is needed to meet the needs of new users who are still learning Steemit as a social media platform. A very useful application to create an appropriate avatar in the use of Steemit is Steem Avatar Generator.

Steem Avatar Generator is an amazing project. This is a creative work developed by @wearecodex with several contributors. With the presence of Steem Avatar Generator, it makes it easy for Steemit users to create creative profile images and represent their status in the crypto-oceans. All you need to do is make a single click and it will generate a random character for each categories. There are will be five categories, namely Plankton, Minnow, Dolphin, Orca, and Whale.

Features So Far

Steem Avatar Generator is under development, so characters for Orca and Whale can not yet be found. The characters on this project are created by contributors with creative commons license so you can freely use them even for commercial use.

Previous Features

At the beginning, the repository name for this project is https://github.com/wearecodexx/plankton-generator. Where at that time there was only a Plankton character.

Then the repository name is changed to https://github.com/wearecodexx/steem-avatars-generator because now web app has grown to be able to have all categories of avatars.

Previously, there were only Plankton and Minnow characters that could be created through Steem Avatar Generator. Although the slots for the Dolphin, Orca, and Whale characters already exist but only Plankton characters will come out. Here is a screenshot of the Steem Avatar Generator display before the update.

New Feature

Through its official account on April 7, 2018 @wearecodex announces that Dolphin characters are available at Steem Avatar Generator. There is an amazing graphics processing on the Dolphin character. Not just variations of color but a lot of variations of themes and accessories added to the Dolphin character. Here is a screenshot for the current Steem Avatar Generator display after the update.

How to Get Your Dolphin Avatar

To get your own Dolphin Avatar, you should visit http://wearecodex.com/steem-avatars/. Then select the Dolphin character slot, and enter your character / avatar name in the box. Next, you just have to press the "GENERATE" button then the system will randomly create a character for you.

Next, right click on your Dolphin character image and choose "Save Image".

Then save your Dolphin Avatar image in the folder of your choice.

How Steem Avatar Generator Create The Characters

Each generated character is a combination of object parts of characters created by layering system on graphical processing. For example, the fin part is made on a separate layer with the upper body parts. So, when you hit the "GENERATE" button the system will randomize every part of the character to create a unique combination.
