Enjoy the garden with all your senses 🌺 🌻 🌼

in #vegan5 years ago (edited)

Yesterday afternoon I only did what I could think of:

Once again read a good book under the apple tree, doze, marvel at the ducks and go for a walk in the garden. All the new plants have grown so nicely and some of them are bearing even the smallest of fruits, like the gooseberry and the ribisel I have already recovered a little and feel like doing new things.

While in other areas it only begins to sprout many trie, it grows and thrives here as in midsummer.

A sea of flowers wherever you look and the vegetables are much further than anywhere else in the area. It is always remarkable how nature and climate interact.

The ornamental apple, a tree for all seasons

The ornamental apple is a real all-round talent: in spring its flowers glow in white or pink, in autumn the branches bend almost under the weight of the numerous fruits and in between it delights us with its beautiful growth.

Marsh marigold

With its golden yellow flowers, the early blooming marsh marigold is a valuable wild perennial for the garden pond or stream.

The frogs also enjoy the warm sun rays

Is there a nicer Mother's Day gift than a bouquet of lilacs?

he too is beginning to flaunt his beautiful flowers and breath-taking fragrance.

The wisteria

The wisteria has overwhelmed many hobby gardeners with its overwhelming growth. To keep it in check, you have to cut it twice a year - but its gorgeous bloom is well worth the effort.

Wild strawberries*

I look forward to these small berries every year anew, because they taste so wonderful, they grow quickly and bear fruit all summer.

The winter snowball

Green in spring and summer, red in autumn and pink in winter - the foliage and flowers of the Bodnant snowball, which is also known as winter snowball, are so colorful. This shrub belongs to the musk herb family and provides color from winter to spring with white to pink flowers.

The olive pasture

Olive willows are robust, often evergreen shrubs. They become interesting for many gardens in times of climate change because they are very drought tolerant and I particularly like them because of their wonderful floral scent

The blood plum

The blood plum offers almost everything your heart desires: early flowering, pretty leaves and delicious fruit.

Rowan, Common Rowanberry

Rowanberry or mountain ash is not only a valuable bird plant, it is also a valuable food for humans. However, it should not be consumed raw, since the berries contain the moderately toxic parasorbic acid, which can lead to nausea, abdominal pain, cramps and vomiting. Cooked or enjoyed after the first frost, the tart fruits (by the way, like rose hips too) can be processed perfectly into juice, jam or jelly. And the bitter substances it contains have a positive effect on digestion by stimulating the bile.

Ladybugs are insatiable

Why settle for little when you can have a lot? The ladybug shows off wherever it can: in appearance, when eating, during sex.

I wish you a wonderful day with your loved ones and stay healthy!
