Something you don't usually have: CARNIVALS in Venezuela
Carnival! Maybe Rio is famous about them but it is actually something spreaded throughout most of Latin America, making a pagan party that is contradictory with catholicism (The biggest religion in the region), a motive of celebration and free days in my country: Venezuela.
Here I'm going to talk about traditions in carnival that you'll find curious:
- Costumes: well... Here we don't have Halloween so this time we consider the perfect one to put on a costume and have fun with it, these costumes are generally funny and colourful, also really simple and not so ellaborated as it could be in Halloween festivity. Also we don't go from house to house asking for candies!

- Pool parties and beaches: it is commom that people having free days go to beaches and pools, but in carnivals these two get really savage due to the exagerated quantity of people that goes to them and also the parties going. It is really cool but also kinda like a disaster.

- Water games: I don't know if in places like de US you fill a balloon with water and throw em' to other people, well here we call it "Playing Carnival" and is one of the funniest games to play when you are a kid. I remember my carnival days before only throwing water filled balloons.
- Reunions in social clubs: maybe if you don't like water too much, you could go to a social club and gather with some friends, these go really full in this time of the year.
This is at "Centro Hispano Venezolano" located in the city of Maracay in Venezuela. It is being held a celebration due to Carnivals in this social club. Image taken by me.
