RE: [Virtual Reality] Mein Weg in die virtuelle Welt

Very interesting. I followed a similar upgrade path, though I chose a different solution than you for solving the Gear VR overheating problems:

You might also like this sneak peek at a Windows Mixed Reality HMD I did a writeup on. Inside out tracking works astonishingly well, and I am hoping it will be standard in the Oculus CV2.

your solution looks more professional than mine, haha ^^ I can barely see the text on it - does it say "UVR" or something like that? Is it specially made for this purpose? // edit: just realized that you linked the item :) interesting to see that such things are selling, so you don't have to do the cutting and cabeling on your own :D but it's more expensive of course..

I already heard about this windows mixed reality HMD :) I'm happy that the inside out tracking works so well! This should be the standard for all future VR-HMDs! But as you already mentioned, the windows one doesn't have improvements in FOV or resolution.. so we still have to wait. Let's see what 2018 brings to us ^.^

CUVR. Sold by one guy who 3D prints them himself. Kinda makes me want a 3D printer if that's all it takes to start a business.
