thanks for the info! I have a question for you if you have time... Can someone really succeed (get views) without putting any money in steem...

Sure. If you bring value of some form to the platform then yes. There are a few on here that have found some degree of success without investing in STEEM. If the content is really great and others share it on and off the platform then it has the potential to get views. It does make it easier to find success when you do invest though.
