RE: Transparency Bot -- A good thing until YOU get caught! - a tale of woes
We are all employees. We are working for the blockchain to create a fair system that is sustainable and that provides value for each user. We are working for the stake holders to make their investments profitable. Not by buying their votes, but by increasing the market share of steem. Many of the investors have forgotten this fact. They will profit much more if the steem price rises, than they will if every minnow pays for their share of the reward pool.
I am arrogant. But my view is definitely better than yours. You are the same as those investors who want to make a quick buck. Whereas I am looking to the future of the platform. I believe in the vision that is set out in the whitepaper. Have you even read it?
But anyway. It is clear that I am not gonna change your mind about this. So carry on with what you are doing.
I am actually glad to hear you are in it for the long haul, so am I. The plain fact is that nobody is an employee here, but I realize you make the comment Metaphorically. Also, I went through a phase where I thought about it from a similar point of view as you are thinking about it.
Yeah, I am not really swayed by people who insist and rudely that everyone views this with the same vision.
Yes, I have read the white paper several times. We are building more than a blogging site here, we are building an economy. The white paper also acknowledges that it is an experiment. If you don't like what I am doing I strongly encourage you to practice flagging, and I will not flag back. That is how we manage behavior we do not like.
You do not get to insist how other people behave, you do not get to insist how others use their stake. It is a decentralized platform. In addition with new platforms coming, I am sure there will be a blogging site which doesn't allow for vote selling. I am happy you are reading the white paper, and learning.
Fortunately, I don't mind that you view the platform differently than I do. Enjoy.
Oh I do flag. I won't flag you though. There are much worse offenders than you. You do at least earn something from natural votes.
And the fact that it's decentralized means I do get to insist how other people behave. Just like you get to insist to not listen to me. Decentralization does not magically change that.
Okay, well you can insist, that is true. The difference is that I am tolerant and respectful of others' freedom while I enjoy my own.
I do many things to help the platform grow, including buying votes and powering up the results. In addition, I engage, trade ideas, curate manually, and work on various projects. I also bring and keep money in the economy, vote and make sure that some new users are discovered. You may or may not think that is an adequate effort for my rewards, but the important part is that I feel just fine about my contribution verses pay off. :)
Oh, and thank you for using your flags!
