Anxiety can be defined as an unpleasant state of mental uneasiness, nervousness, apprehension and obsession.
Anxiety is every man's problem.
Anxiety can become chronic and when that happens it continues after there is no more need to feel anxious. This leads to anxiety disorder.
Anxiety can affect almost everybody.
But there's always goodnews for sufferers.
There are effective therapies for those suffering from anxiety disorders and many research has uncovered new treatments that can help most people with anxiety disorders which will help them lead productive and fulfilling lives.
Types of anxiety disorders.

  1. Panic disorders
    Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder characterized by reoccurring unexpected panic attacks. these attacks are sudden periods of intense fear that may include palpitations, sweating, shaking, shortness of breath, numbness, or a feeling that something terrible is going to happen.
  2. Obsessive-compulsive disorder.
    These are excessive thoughts that lead to repetitive behaviours. This kind of anxiety makes the suffer to check things repeatedly.
  3. Post-traumatic stress disorders
    Post-traumatic disorder is a kind of anxiety that is triggered by terrifying events either by experiencing it or witnessing it.
  4. Social phobia
    A mental condition in which social interactions cause irrational worries
  5. Generalised Anxiety disorder.
    This is a kind of anxiety that is very severe and it interferes with daily activities.
    People with generalised anxiety always tends to expect disaster.
    Ways to help sufferers.
  6. Have knowledge about the disorder.
    This is helpful for those who are in close contact with the sufferers of anxiety disorders.
    It can be an immediate family member or a close friend.
  7. Offer support.
    Most people find it very difficult to understand people with emotional problems. This is one of the difficulty with people who have anxiety disorder.
    As a result most anxiety suffers become afraid of being misunderstood that they try to hide their problems from others, this may result in feelings of emotional guilt which worsen their emotional sate of being.
    At this leriod it is very important for family members and friends to be more supportive.
  8. Comfort them.
    When it comes to comforting we can do this by our soothing words and our tone of voice.
    We need to show them that we care deeply about them and we also need to avoid hurtful insinuations because this can be damaging.
    Be sensitive to the feeling gs of the sufferer. Listen carefully and try to view matters through the eyes of the one who is suffering from the anxiety disorder rather then through your own.
    When you do this you may be able To help the sufferer enjoy a more meaningful life.
