My Walk Through the Annex of Francisco de Miranda Square

Plaza Miranda has an annex at the front; it’s a very busy spot due to its strategic location, as it borders the central Guzman Blanco Bridge. Every time I pass by there, I can’t help but gaze at the Manzanares River, as it usually conveys a sense of tranquility. Several people sit on the concrete benches there to take in the view: a very calm river below and, in the background, crowds of people, motorcycles, and cars rushing through the streets in that race against time that characterizes big cities.
