The Top 5 Best Places to Have a Destination Wedding or Honeymoon

A family member of mine recently got married down in Florida, and it got me thinking about where the best places for a wedding/honeymoon might actually be. So here is my top 5 best places to have a destination wedding/honeymoon.

1. Maldives
   Welcome to the Maldives, where the water is warm and clear, the people are friendly, and the sun is always shining! This is my #1 wedding or honeymoon destination. The Maldives are islands off of India and it is absolutely breathtaking.There are a multitude of activities to do here if you were to choose this as your spot for your destination wedding such as hiking, surfing, diving, and swimming. This place allows you to choose from a variety of places to stay, one of the most common being water bungalows stretched out over the water in rows. But the real magic comes at night when the bio-luminescent plankton take over the water just along the beaches, lighting up the sand in the most incredible way!

1. Jamaica
   Jamaica is known for it's beautiful beaches, breathtaking waterfalls, and amazing food! There is so much to see and do here you wont ever be bored. Hiking, site seeing, zip-lining, snorkeling and scooba-diving, lighthouses, and swimming. The activities are endless! There are more public places and some more secluded places for those who do and don't like to be around a lot of others during their special vacation.

1. Finland
   Specifically the Kakslauttanen Arctic resort in Finland. This resort, unlike the other two options, is based in the winter, fall, or summer. This resort has so many things to do such as horseback riding, visiting a husky farm, kayaking and canoeing, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, sledding, and snowmobiling. The resort also accomadates for events such as weddings with three different types of housing to choose from including an igloo, earthlodge, or queen sweet! Watching the Northern lights from your igloo house with that special someone, it doesn't get much better than that!

1. Scotland
   Scotland is such a beautiful and historic place that holds a touch of magic in its rolling hills and dramatic landscapes, its truly captivating. Visit one of the many castles stuck in a time from long ago on the Isle of Skye, gaze out onto the open rolling hills and vibrant green fields, and watch a magical sunset in the evening for a perfect end to your special day. A magical time awaits you here!

1. Italy
   Anyone knows that Italy is one of the most romantic places of all time. Do i even need to say much here? Witness all the art, history, boat rides down a river road, and eat some of the best food around with that special person in this picture perfect wedding destination.

Don't just have a wedding. Make this a day, or week, that you and your loved one will never forget.
