When I saw...

in WhereIN2 months ago

When I saw a pile of snow pears at the supermarket, I casually picked two and bought them home. I put them in the refrigerator to chill, planning to eat them after my evening run.

When I got home out of breath in the evening, I immediately opened the fridge, took out one pear, and washed it. I imagined the juicy flesh bursting in my mouth. But as soon as I took a bite, something felt off—the pear was soft and mealy, with none of the crispness I expected.

I knew right away it had been stored for too long. I grabbed the other one, but it tasted just the same. It seemed no one liked eating pears here, so they had been left to sit for ages.
