Suzie Dawson Calls For Active Support Of Assange, Wikileaks

Suzie Dawson, leader of the New Zealand State Party, spoke with the German Pirate Party later this week as part of their annual conference. During the discussion, Dawson emphasized the value of nonconformity and argued against complacency in connection with Wikileaks and Julian Assange's support.

In addition to leading the New Zealand Internet Party, Dawson is an old activist and independent journalist. He was harassed by authorities in New Zealand until he was finally forced to seek asylum in Russia.

During his remarks to the German Pirate Party conference, Dawson explained that over the past year he has learned that success will not come out of using the founding method. He stated: "I learned this year not to reflect system priorities, but to set our own priorities and our own benchmarks for success."

Dawson also spoke of the international influence of intelligence groups such as Five Eyes, which he said 'make national borders effectively meaningless.' Countries comprising the Five Eyes pact include Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the United States. Many see intelligence sharing under the Five Eyes as a slightly reported but important form of colonization.

In his discussion, Dawson emphasized the need for anti-forming activist groups to collaborate internationally, to confront the globalization of intelligence gathering and sharing efforts. He also described the realization of the extent to which: "The media and military industrial complex have" interfered "not only in their own elections, but also the election of allies."

Dawson tells us that activists including Dr. Martin Luther King has had their historical achievement "cleaned posthumously." Continuing his point, Dawson emphasized that: "we can not wait until our hero is dead and gone."

Dawson explains what he sees as true anti-establishment resistance, which should not be confusing in any way he calls "McResistance."

He added: "No matter which government is in power, left or right, they will target activists, they will target journalists.Will we wait for the death of the organization that protects us? Or whether we will put aside our little social pressure and see the more important issue "If we lose Julian or Wikileaks, it will not be a tweet issue, it will be a threat to dismantle journalists and activists across the board."

Dawson emphasized the single importance of Wikileaks in providing invaluable resources, both in the sense of information provided by the organization, stemming the establishment of media narratives, and also in the sense of taking the burden of attacks that would otherwise fall on individual activists and journalists.

He said: "What if we lose Julian? What if we lose Wikileaks? ... In what ways was Julian's legacy sanitized after his death? Wikileaks is a fortress that protects us all. They have become the cornerstone of resistance. "

Dawson then called for solidarity and increased support for Wikileaks, saying: "We must stand with Wikileaks and we must do it actively, in a way that we have not yet done. I am on target. When someone is an FBI, a CIA target, I stand by the target. We need to look carefully at the persecution of these targets and the taunts around them. We need to ask who benefits. Who benefits if the target falls? Solidarity is life. "
