Assange needs to get out of the embassy. Under the present Ecuadorian government, his life is an asset that can be traded.

I hope he does escape to freedom.

Solitary confinement is torture. Imprisonment is torture. Sadly, torture is commonplace, and more effected in the US than anywhere in the world, or at anytime in history.

If it isn't suitable treatment for a dog, it isn't suitable treatment for people. Keeping a dog in a kennel without a social life is torture. A nice kennel is kinder, gentler torture. Assange is being tortured right now.
