A complex relationship with nature.
A complex relationship with nature.
Relationships with nature are where it's very difficult to remain honest, especially when you're shouting from the rooftops that you love nature. It might be worth adding that when we talk about love for nature in general, we're definitely lying to someone.
Have you seen ballerinas walk en pointe?
That's essentially how all conservationists should walk, who insist on loving nature, afraid to step on a passing ant while walking.
It's much more honest to consider nature a blessing for us. We value it, love some things, dislike others, and sometimes even hate it.
And sometimes, when we want to do something well, we recklessly destroy a lot of living creatures, for example, by treating a garden with pesticides, herbicides, or more gentle products.
How beautiful the butterfly is!... you can say that, but to say that I would never harm it or its fellows would be a lie.
I think it's not protecting nature that makes us human, but how honest we are, first and foremost, with ourselves.
And those who are honest can analyze their actions and strive to do more good than bad, and this is a true natural balance, like the one between antelopes and nepards in the savannah.
There are countless examples of people loving those who are hungry, very much so, but without hesitation, they would easily chop off a chicken's head or slaughter a sheep, even though when the sheep was a lamb, they played with it like a dog, gave it a name, and then grilled it into shashlik.
I know this from personal experience, because I am a fisherman and was a hunter, I have no sentimentality, but I cannot say that I do not appreciate the nature around me.
