My Never Ending Hobby Cycle An ADHD Story 😂
Let's talk about my hobbies... or should I say my temporary obsessions.
As someone with ADHD I have a habit of falling completely in love with a new hobby. I convince myself it is going to become my entire personality. Then a few days later I get bored and move on to something else.
It all started with journaling. I watched countless aesthetic journal videos and became obsessed. The problem was that our local markets did not have cute stickers or washi tapes or decorative supplies. Buying them online was way too expensive. My dream journal slowly turned into an empty notebook sitting on a shelf.
Then came baking.
I started with simple cupcakes and somehow I ended up making a beautiful cake. Well... to be fair my sister deserves most of the credit because she handled almost everything while I proudly decorated the top. 😂 In my defense the toppings are the most important part. Right?
After that I became interested in crafting dress designs. I gathered papers ideas and supplies. I was completely convinced that I had finally found my true passion.
Two days later...I was already bored. 😂
Next came painting.
I imagined myself creating beautiful artwork but I quickly realized that sitting still and concentrating for hours was not as easy as it looked. Now my paints are quietly collecting dust in the cupboard while they wait for the day I magically decide to become an artist again. And here I am searching for my next hobby. Sometimes I wonder if this cycle will ever end. Then I remind myself that maybe it is not a bad thing after all. Every hobby teaches me something new even if I do not stick with it forever. Maybe I am not meant to master just one thing. Maybe I am simply someone who loves exploring creating and trying new experiences.
So... what hobby do you think I will accidentally fall in love with next? 😂
