CONTEST PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK #18...The Long Awaited Modelling Shot
So it was not really how I planned it, but somehow everything just worked out fine today. Last weekend was supposed to be the time for this shoot, but I was really tied up with a lot of things. I had plans already stacked, movements here and there, and before I knew it, the whole weekend just slipped away. The model had reached out then, and I knew she was serious about working, but I just couldn’t fix it in.
So when she called me again today, I didn’t even think twice. I already knew I had to make time this time around. Sometimes you just have that feeling that if you miss a moment again, it won’t come the same way. So I showed up.
Then the model came through, and honestly, she looked really good, just as expected, even better in person. It wasn’t just about appearance, but the way she carried herself. Simple, clean, but still very noticeable. Her outfit wasn’t doing too much, but it was speaking in its own way. You could tell she understood what she was bringing to the shoot.
We didn’t rush into anything.
There were moments we paused, just to reset a bit, shared a few laughs, then got back into it. Nothing felt forced or too serious, and I think that helped everything come out more natural. When the energy is right, the work reflects it without even trying too hard.
By the time we were wrapping up, I could already tell we got something solid. The kind of shots that don’t just sit there, but actually speak when you look at them. It wasn’t just about taking pictures, it was about creating something that holds a moment.
Sometimes things don’t happen when you plan, but when they finally do, it comes out even better than expected.Today reminded me again why I enjoy doing this. I therefore invite @bossj23, @peacemike, @christabella to participate in the contest.
