Crypto Malady
Boy, Steem's numbers sure look gloomy, we hit an All Time Low again yesterday, $0.05738. Now that is really low, especially for an old timer like me who was already around when we hit the All Time High of $8.57. The Crypto Market Cap went below 3 Trillion USD, and Bitcoin is on the verge of going below $80,000.00, ok it is at close to $84,000.00, but lately I have seen it dump a couple of thousands in minutes so going below 80 is really a probability.
I know nothing about technical analysis, and I actually believe that is pure crap. crypto is now being moved by forces that are mighty and most likely invisible. I hear about such and such a reason for crypto's downward trend, but the day after one reason is given it turns out the idea behind that reason was ridiculous. Nobody seems to really know what is happening.
I think I do know, crypto is freedom and if there is something the owners of this world do not want it is freedom for the masses. Crypto gives people choices and choices are really bad if you want to have a controlled population, which I really think is the vision of the elites who run most of this world. Personally, I am not really invested in crypto, the little I have I have made online mostly through writing and it is not much, if crypto fails I will lose all I made but not the fun I had making it. So even though I would not like to lose my crypto as it is money, it is also money I never saw so it won't hurt much.
Then again, even though things do look dire, crypto has shown its resilience every time it has been given up as lost. So far it has always made a comeback, something that is reflected in itcoin's behavior. Just when all its haters are high fiving each other because of its demise it comes roaring back to reach new heights. but then, past performance is nothing to go on to think the same has to happen again. It might come back, or maybe it won't.
Now for tokens like Steem, I think the road is way rougher, I mean Steem's market cap is ridiculously low, only 32.5 Million USD. I remember Steem at over 200 million if I am not wrong and on the first page of the top 100 crypto. Right now Steem is really struggling. I do hope we can make a comeback, at least I would like to see Steem at $0.20, I know there are people in third world countries who depend on Steem to fill certain needs their ordinary income can't cover, so I feel for them. i too live in a third world country and Steem has gotten me out of several holes, but I do net depend on it on a monthly or even quarterly basis, just sometimes I have a special need and Steem comes in pretty handy.
But frankly right now things are freaky in the world, just look at silver, it was going up like beer foam, and yesterday or maybe it was today it had a violent correction and a lot of people lost a lot of money. I think this manipulation of some sort, like you give out the bait and once people bite you cut it off. The thing I would like to know is who are the fishermen.
