First Week of the New Year
Nothing much has happened around here this first week of this 2026. As for me, this is my first post for this year. I really hope this year will be better than last year, personally last year was full of sadness, unfulfilled promises, a couple of mini strokes, a lot of ocular migraines and even a pre heart attack. So actually I was very glad when the sirens signaled the beginning of 2026.
My luck seems to be holding out, mainly bad. I happened on some Tron and USDC that I found no way of cashing out and sending to my bank so I sent it all, all $121.00 of it to a crypto exchange. Once there I looked around and found a token that was supposedly going to make a good run (this was three weeks ago) so I put all my stake in it, all $121,00. As things go with me, no sooner had I bought into it than it started to tank. Last week it was already down to $89.00, which given my luck I thought was normal.
But I looked yesterday and it had gone up to $110,00 and I thought, could my lucj actually be changing? But no, today it went down to $101.00 so I guess I will never get back to $121.00. In the meantime I was also the victim of a scam attempt, a girl or somebody who passed as a girl took several days to befriend me via chat until yesterday came the call for me to invest in some unknown crypto. I knew it was a scam or better said I felt it was a scam but I went along because I am imune to scams. Mainly because I have no money to be scammed out of. I am a winless move for scammers, I am just not worth it. Well I blocked her, him or them and I guess that is that. Or I hope that is that.
Financially i don't see this year being any better than last, I am unemployed, but this year I turn 65 so I become a likely recipient of a Social Security check. In Honduras this is just a small amount, but it is a steady income. The thing is they voted in the same guys who stole most of the SS money the last time they were around so I am not that positive about receiving anything. So there you have it, I will have to rely on social media like Steemit and hope that somehow, those $121.00 will explode and become a huge number. I have to find the token that will have that kind of behavior.
Oh, yeah, we've also been having lousy climate, it is nice and cool, but all of a sudden you are out walking and a downpour develops out of nowhere. and boy do I hate getting my feet wet.
