Steem UP!!!

Somehow Steem's price had a pump today going from $0.045 very near its ATL all the way up to $0.0587, and now rests at around $0.057. An increase of over 22% in one day, for no other reason than a 240% increase in trading volume. Which is fine, but that still leaves the question, why this spike in trading volume precisely today, a very ordinary Monday?

Did people all of a sudden notice that Steem is a great token with a very solid and increasingly positive and aggressive expectations? Somehow, I don't think this is the answer. Steem has been around long enough for people to more or less have an honest view of its expectations. For example, I think its price is really lower than it should be and I expect, some time in the future it will eventually move to the twenty cents range. Not right now, maybe by years end. But I don't see that as a reason for that surge in trading. This could be very good or on the other hand very bad. We might be getting new money into the Steem ecosystem or we could be seeing price playing by people who want out and want to make as much money as possible.

And I understand this, there are people who have invested a lot of money here and might want out. But if the deal is new investors, that means my small stake will go up in value, which would be a good feeling. I am not cashing out either way, my stake is small enough that it makes no difference to me if it is based on a token valued at $0.05 or $0,20, no life changer for me. But knowing I have way more than I have now would be very positive for me and everyone.

And I think the community needs a better price, because some people actually depend on Steem having a decent price to be able to get some help in their lives and I am all for that, well at least today we had some good news.
