Since ancient times, the pentagon has been one of the most fascinating symbols of harmony, proportion, and mystery. More than a simple geometric figure, it has been a bridge between science and spirituality — a form that ancient cultures associated with life, balance, and the hidden order of the cosmos.
The Pythagoreans considered it a sacred emblem. Inside the pentagon, they drew the pentagram, a star that contains the golden ratio (φ), believed to be the mathematical imprint of divine beauty. Throughout history, this shape has appeared in Egyptian symbols, Christian iconography, esoteric manuscripts, and the mathematical studies of the Renaissance.
In this video, I explore both the symbolism and the practical construction of the pentagon. Step by step, using only a ruler and compass, we build:

A regular pentagon
Its internal star, the pentagram
And finally, the ogive, the pointed Gothic arch that rises in medieval cathedrals.

This tutorial is not only a geometric exercise — it is an invitation to rediscover geometry as a contemplative art, just as artists like Leonardo da Vinci and thinkers like Luca Pacioli once did.

Los pitagóricos lo adoptaron como su emblema sagrado. Dentro del pentágono dibujaban el pentagrama, una estrella que contiene la proporción áurea (φ), considerada la huella matemática de la belleza divina. A lo largo de la historia, esta figura aparece en símbolos egipcios, iconografía cristiana, manuscritos esotéricos y en los estudios matemáticos del Renacimiento.
