Writing competition "149" based on my digital image. Now you are the author of "Alien Monster"

Assalamu Alaikum,

How are you all? I hope everyone is doing well. Today, I am going to join a new competition organized by @xpilar. The theme of this contest is writing a fiction story. So, without further delay, let's get started.

A few months ago. Joy and his friends went on a trip to a hilly area during the winter holidays. There were three of them, traveling by car. They were driving along a narrow road cut into the side of the mountain. But at one point, the road ended, and they had to walk the rest of the way. The sun was almost setting, and evening was falling. Moreover, since it was winter, dense fog had enveloped the entire mountain. They all reached a small open clearing. In front, rows of mountains were visible, and behind them was a thick forest. After such a long journey, everyone was extremely tired. So they all sat leaning against a large rock, gazing up at the sky. A profound silence had spread all around. Only the distant chirping of crickets could be heard somewhere.

Suddenly, it felt as if time had frozen. The wind seemed to hold its breath. At that moment, all of them felt a strange, cold-hot sensation right in the middle of their chests. Then Joy lifted his head and saw, just a few hands' distance away, a small blue orb of light floating in the air. There was no sound, no breeze anywhere. Only a gentle blue glow was spreading through the forest. And that orb's light, mixing with the fog, created a dreamlike radiance all around.

Joy tried to stand up but couldn't. His friends also tried to stand, but their legs had gone numb. Yet, strangely, none of them felt fear. Instead, an unusual peace settled in their hearts. It felt to all of them as if someone from inside that orb was silently observing their entire lives' memories. No words, no questions. In everyone's mind, there was only one feeling: “I have come only to watch. Not to take anything, nor to give anything.”

None of them could sense the passage of time. Whether it was a few seconds or several minutes—they had no idea. Then suddenly, the orb seemed to move backward. The blue light slowly began to fade, and finally, it appeared to dissolve into the fog. Within moments, the sky returned to its normal state. And the sound of the crickets started again.

In Joy's hand was an ordinary water bottle at room temperature, which had now become freezing cold.

They all sat in silence for a long time, thinking about what had just happened there. Only a soft, tender feeling remained in their hearts. The next morning, when they descended to the foot of the mountain, it felt to everyone as if it had been a dream. Because it had come so suddenly, like a dream—silencing everything—and then left without doing anything, without leaving any trace or proof.

Even after returning home, whenever they sat alone gazing at the sky, something trembled slightly inside their chests. Because they knew—what had happened that evening in that open mountain clearing? Who had come? Why had it come? Had it only come to watch? What had it come to watch?

And that was enough.
