It finally happened! I found this fungus I dreamed of for so long: crown-tipped coral mushroom, or Artómyces pyxidátus, or Клавикоро́на коро́бчатая in Russian. A big colony of it was attacking and trying to digest the corpse of the wooden giant.
I spent about one hour (!) by that trunk, making captures from different angles (there was a dozen of different editions of said fungus there). I took.... wait a minute... there are 164 pictures in my folder (of 560 I made during the whole photo-walk on that day). This might be an indicator how excited I was... This isnt a super-rare specie, but still, it is the 1st time I discovered it myself.
Наконец-то это случилось! (сбылась мечта идиёта...) Я нашел гриб, о котором давно мечтал: Artómyces pyxidátus, или по-русски Клавикоро́на коро́бчатая. Большая колония атаковала труп деревянного великана и пыталась его переварить (что несомненно произойдет -- но в очень далекой перспективе).
Я провел там около часа (!) делая снимки с разных ракурсов - и всего у меня получилось 164 снимка (из 560 за весь день). Сами видите, как я возбудился... Это не супер-редкий вид, но тем не менее попался он мне впервые. Кстати, гриб съедобен - пока молодой.

Very beautiful mushroom, I can imagine how excited you were to take so many pictures of them, I can also imagine how difficult it was to select which one would be the most beautiful to publish.

Wow, very fascinating ajd attractive plant. I never seen that kind of plant here in our country. The photoshoot is very perfect also.
