Ekpo Christmas Festival In My Village

‎Hello steemians, welcome to my blog. Happy new year steemians. I think this will be my second entry in this wonderful contest. I want to use this opportunity to thank the organizer of this contest @adeljose. Here is my story. I hope you enjoy reading it.

‎The word 'Ekpo' means masquerade in my native dialect. In my village there's a celebration of Christmas holiday with masquerades of different kind parading the street and entertaining people with their colourful looks and creative dance steps. It is always a thing of fun and enjoyment to the villagers and other people who comes from the town and cities to witness this amazing festival.

‎Since this festival takes place every end of the year we always take our time to prepare for it. I'm not staying in the village. However, when it's time for the celebration we all plan on how we will visit the village and have fun as much as we can. The festival always start in the morning and end at night. All the masquerades will go back to the forest to undress and retire to their different homes. This festival brings tourist from other states to witness the occasion. People dance, drink, take pictures and record videos to go back and show their friends in the cities.

‎Ekpo masquerade is our traditional culture. It has been there for years and was passed down to us by our forefathers. This amazing festival will remain for generations. It's a thing of fun and enjoyment for us the visitors and even those staying in the village.

‎Every place has its own traditional culture. I have seen that of China, Japan, Venezuela and other countries of the world. I hope to witness other countries traditional festival just like I see tourist who comes to take pictures from ours.
