The Screen Addict Recommends
Hyacinth Bucket and Sybil Fawlty.
Patricia Routledge and Prunella Scales.
Two icons of the smaller screen who meant so much to me growing up.
TV, way before binging and endless watchlists became the norm.
Weโd patiently wait a whole week for the next episode to air โ and it was ๐ข๐ญ๐ธ๐ข๐บ๐ด worth it.
These leading ladies taught me a lot about Comedy and timing, maybe even more than their equally magnificent male co-stars.
Sybil Fawlty was of particular significance in my formative years, because I had some kind of weird teenage crush on her...
Perhaps it was the skirt suit, I donโt know, but it definitely stuck with me later in my (dating) life.
In any event โ we lost both Patricia and Prunella this month at 96 and 93, respectively.
Life will definitely be less fun and attractive without them.
