ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Political Race (CEC) Sikander King Raja appeared under the constant gaze of the Supreme Court on Thursday in the situation related to the transfer of the previous Lahore City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.

He was assembled by the zenith court to understand the reasons for expelling Dogar.

During this hearing, Equity Ijaz Ul Ahsan questioned why the CCPO was canceled regardless of Supreme Court requests and what was the rush to issue the exchange orders.

A lawyer for the Punjab government informed the headquarters that Dogar has been shifted to the sets of the Political Decision Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

To this, Equity Ahsan asked what the ECP's job was to change officials. While Equity Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi noted that the work of ECP becomes effective after the announcement of races.

The Special Promoter General let the court know that they have taken approval from the ECP regarding the evacuation of Dogar as the custody arrangement has been concluded.

"Constitutionally, racing must take place no later than 90 days after the custody arrangement prevails," the legal adviser said.

To this, Equity Ahsan asked where the ECP was, while Equity Naqvi noted that some of the officials posted in Punjab had been shifted.

"Is there any region of Punjab where there has been no exchange," Equity asked Naqvi.

Meanwhile, Equity Ahsan puzzled over whether the ECP was aware of the Supreme Court's demands for Dogar's broadcast.

"The political decision of the Commission does everything separately from its work," commented Equity Ahsan.

The site refused the 60 Minutes consultation after the request was made.
