Chicken with rice |SLC29-W6

We've reached week 6 of this amazing chicken recipe challenge! I thoroughly enjoyed it. A big thank you to our sponsor, my friend @suboohi, who prepared such delicious recipes for us. Let's make chicken and rice.
This week's recipe reminded me of one my maternal grandmother used to make. It was chicken and rice. Although she also made a seafood rice, which was exquisite. So when I saw the challenge for this week, my eyes and heart lit up.
My family also loves chicken and rice. It's a very practical and complete meal. One dish includes protein, carbohydrates, and fats. Three in one 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽. Now I'll tell you how I made the recipe. Since I didn't have all the ingredients listed, I substituted some and omitted others. Let's get started!

To make my chicken and rice, I only had:
- chicken
- 500 grams of rice
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 large onion
- 2 chili peppers
- 6 large cloves of garlic
- 2 small potatoes
- seasoning (salt, paprika, ginger, and cumin)

Once we have the ingredients, we can proceed with the recipe. I started by preparing the rice:

I added cloves and cinnamon to the water and heated it until it was very hot, then I added the rice. It had already been soaking for about 30 minutes.



I was surprised it was ready in just 8 minutes. After that time, I tasted it and it was done. I drained the water and set it aside.

As with my previous recipes, I remove the fat from the chicken skin. Even after doing this, I set aside the cracklings to add to the rice later.


Now it was time to prepare the chicken. I took the seasoning, which consisted of salt, ginger, paprika, and cumin, added it to the chicken, and massaged it in. This way, these seasonings... They permeate the chicken meat. I let it rest for a while.


I let it rest for a while and then I started to sauté it in the fat that came out of the chicken skin. I mixed everything very well, added a cup of water and covered it to cook.

Then I added all the vegetables and greens that I had cut up and ready to use.



After about 15 minutes the chicken was ready. Now I started to try the rice I had prepared earlier. I mixed everything very well to combine the chicken with the rice.


I also added the crispy chicken skin. This gave the chicken and rice an extra flavor.


Once the rice was prepared, I made my presentation #6 of the "chicken world" challenge presented by my friend @suboohi

Eso es correcto. Creo que está receta de arroz la voy a poner en práctica en la futura reunión en la biblioteca, en el día mundial de la poesía.
