SLC27-W2 // "Desserts From Milk"

Dessert brings great joy in our dining experience which boosts the mood, gives energy, provides a pleasant finish to two or three course meal and also encourages creativity through its presentation. For this week, I've learned about different types of desserts made from milk.

Question 1: Do you like the desserts made ftom milk? Share some examples of desserts that you make from milk at home.

Many desserts are made from or with milk which gives unique flavor, creamy texture and of course delicious taste. And yes!, I like dessert that are made from milk. Milk based desserts I have made at home are; milkshake, creamy ice cream, custard and pap.

Among the listed types of dessert, milkshake is what I make frequently and served as dessert.

Question 2: Make any one of the recipes that you like most from milk, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images.

For the purpose of this challenge, I will choose custard dessert recipe.

Ingredients Used

• Milk
• Custard powder
• Sugar
• Apple
• Bread
• Cashew nut

Preparation Procedures

• The first thing I did after preparing the ingredients ( slicing of apple and bread) was to heat up the milk on low heat

Heating up milk

• I added sugar to the milk

Adding milk

• I proceeded to dissolving the custard powder using milk.

• I mixed properly till it becomes smooth.

• I poured it into the milk pan

Pouring custard into milk

• I mixed continuously till it form. I also added milk on an interval when it became thick.

Cooking custard

• I added fresh milk and kept it aside to cool.

• I placed slices of bread and apple in a bowl

First layer

• I added custard to it

Second layer

• Moving to the next layer, I placed cashew nut and apple

Third layer

• The last layer was custard then cashew nut and tiny slices of apple were used for the topping.

Question 3: Do you face any difficulty during making this recipe.

No, I didn't face any difficult time preparing this recipe. I'm familiar with all the ingredients and also the preparation process of custard which makes it easier.

Question 4: At what occasion do you want to make your dessert.

I would like to make this recipe of dessert again when we have family gathering ( during Christmas). I want all my siblings and cousins to have a taste of this goodness made with love. I will make sure that each plate will contain their favorite fruits.
