Tina came back home since her family was going through a tough time after the death of her mom. She came back home after years away, but she felt the walls still whispering stories of laughter and her mother’s gentle voice. She felt everything had changed since her mother was no more, but she remembered how her family moved through the days, trying to forget not so happy conversations that always irritated her.

Tina now cooked, cleaned, managed errands, and remembered all about her company with her mom, and evenings felt too long at times. She remembered the strain, the arguments flaring over small things, the way grief sometimes twisted love into impatience yet, their affection held them together. Tina felt upset every night, when the house settled into stillness.

She often felt as if gone back in the past and talking to her mom. She thought of her mother, her warmth, her strength, her laughter even if she didn't go so well with her at times.

She often wished she could talk to her, just once more, to say that she was trying her best, even when she failed. The thought brought both guilt and comfort. Losing her mother left an ache that time wouldn’t heal, yet, being back home gave her one quiet truth to hold on to, love doesn’t leave, even when people do.

From then on, Tina's life slowly began to find a new rhythm. The first few days were the hardest. A familiar house, a familiar yard, but somewhere there was an unfamiliar emptiness. Even when she woke up in the morning, she would mistakenly call her mother's name, only to realize that there was no one else to answer. Her heart would heave, but she tried to turn that groan into strength.

One afternoon, while cleaning her mother's room, she found an old box. Inside were some letters, a few pictures, and a note written by her mother. It read, "Tina, if I'm never there, remember that you're not alone. I've left all my strength inside you. No matter what life throws at you, don't stop, mother." Tears came to Tina's eyes as she read the last line of the letter, but this time the tears were not of weakness, but of a promise to stand up anew. From that day on, she no longer drowned the house in the burden of memories alone. She cleaned the yard, took care of the old trees, sat next to the basil and jasmine plants her mother had planted, and talked for a while every day. It was as if nature had now become her mother's voice.

The evenings no longer felt as lonely as before. As the sky changed colors, she realized—her relationship with her mother had never ended, only its form had changed. Now that love lived in the air, in the light, in her very breath. One night, she looked up at the sky and whispered, "Mom, I'm fine. I'm trying to live just as you wanted me to."

A kind of silent peace descended from the sky like fireflies. Tina then understood that some people leave with their bodies, but love never leaves. And that realization was the beginning of Tina's new life.
