Boring Back Story

Does the boring back story ruin it? I mean the six-word story is supposed to stand alone, but as a writer I always feel the need to say more. It's a bit of a curse.

The back story today is Micah 7:19 -

He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.
