Today is my wife's birthday. At midnight or 12:00 a.m. last night, I hugged her and wished her a happy birthday. I pray that God will always make her a pious woman and wife.
It's a simple custom on our birthdays. There's no big party or extravagant celebration. We realize there are many other things that can be more beneficial than extravagant spending.

Giving Meaning to Birthdays

Perhaps some people celebrate their birthdays lavishly. Throwing a big party, even a grand one, at a luxury hotel. There's nothing wrong with that. It's all perfectly acceptable and everyone's right. Feel free to have a birthday party as extravagant as possible.
However, there are other things on birthdays that can be more meaningful than just a party.

1. A Moment to Reflect.

On birthdays, we realize we're getting older. So, we can use birthdays as a moment to reflect on whether things are better now, the same as yesterday, or even worse.
This will make us realize that increasing age should be directly proportional to maturity. We can make more informed and informed decisions.
We can see that if we made mistakes yesterday, it's time for us to strive to improve ourselves and build a better soul. Becoming a good person will make us realize that we don't live alone and that we can support each other to strengthen each other.

2. Is our awareness of age diminishing?

We often pray for a long life on our birthdays. However, in reality, our lifespan is decreasing as we use it from seconds to minutes, minutes to hours, hours to days to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years. This constant shift in time clearly shortens our lifespan. This means our lifespan is getting shorter. If last year we had 23 years of life, this year it will be reduced to 22, and so on.
This paradigm will make us think wisely about whether the remaining life we have to live is filled with good things or not. We will learn from the past and look forward to a better future.

3. Prayers and Hopes

On birthdays, or even on non-birthdays, we can pray for each other. We pray that increasing age will bring wisdom. We pray that happiness will always be abundant and bring benefit to many.
It's a moment to pray that we can do better than today and the days before. And of course, other good prayers can be said and hopes that after the birthday you will become more pious and better.

That all my writing this time I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for stopping by and read my post. Warm regard from Indonesia
