Two people and an old drunk man ( Original works)

in #writing7 years ago

He came to sing in this small town restaurant. As the evening saw an end, it was time to fall back home. Wonderful summer evening with twilight sky and shiny green. At the small town train station, by the Bol Piano, a girl was playing.

She looked heavenly as she kept playing and the sound of the piano echoed around like a magic spell swiveling with her blonde hair in soothing breeze.

Soon she looked at the watch and got up. May be it was time for her train. He approached cautiously, asking if she was done. The pretty girl said,
“ Yes ofcourse!”
He smiled as he sat to play,
“ Never mind me playing, I am a self taught and there will be mistakes. But I still have 20 minutes left. I guess this will be a good use of time.”
She stopped, dropped her bag and asked,
“You are self taught? Me too”. Then she had the sweetest smile on her face to say,
“I am not going now. Lets see if you can play better than me!”

A drunk old man joined them with his dog. He looked very happy with an empty beer can and a cigarette in his hand.

As he kept playing she started to sing. Soon there was a unison of a brown guy playing Piano, blonde girl singing along, an old drunk man joining them with a terrible voice but full enthusiasm and a blinking dog looking up, as if what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-them!
“Wow!!! You play wonderful. Where are you from?”
He said he was from a far away country.
“What are you doing here?”

He said, he was a traveler.

“ Why are you in this city?”
He mentioned singing at the small town restaurant.
“So, you are a traveler, you play Piano and sing at restaurants? What else do you do?”

The drunk old man joined this time, bending down his face near his ears

“Hey, are you blind?
He laughed, “No I am not!”
“Don’t you see she is falling for you? Give her your cell phone number!!!!”
The girl smiled and said,
“Yes, it can be a good idea.”
The old man banged some fist, “ I told you....she is falling for you.”
He smiled in reply too.

“I don’t have a cell phone. I don’t use one. I am just a traveler in this country for a short time.”
She didn’t look disappointed. She said, “ So, you really are a stranger in my country then.”

“ Yes, I am!”
The dog was rubbing its face with the piano and the old drunk man pulled it back to say,
“ I told you boy, she likes you. Then tell her where you live.”
The girl didn’t protest but smiled.

He got up.

“Well, we keep walking and meeting people. The sweetness of the interaction comes from not by holding them, but to let them go when its time and savoring the precious memories.”

She smiled and said, “Yes, you are right. But you can give me your address, to listen to some more Piano later?”
He smiled and said, “Lets just hug instead. Three of us!”
The dog made a sound and the old guy said again,
“ You must be blind and deaf both.” Not clear, to the dog or to him.

The girl had the sweetest smile on her face again. Three of them hugged by the Piano.
The dog started to blink again, as if what-the-hell-is-wrong-with-them!
Few minutes later he stood opposite to her platform having a train line between them. She smiled and waved hands, “ Hey, you didn’t even tell me your name!”
He said, “ I am traveler”

“Thats your name?”
He said something but she could barely hear it as the train arrived at his platform already.

We keep walking and meeting people with loving interactions. The sweetness of it comes not from holding them, but by letting them go when its time and savoring the love from it.
