Familiar voice

You know that old familiar voice that is always alert
To help you engage in the constant battle deep down your heart
To remind you of the sound of your horrible voice
Which often makes your heart pound and skip w/o a choice
To remind you that you're terribly awkward
Horribly awkward inward and outward
To remind you that you're sure to be ruined
And your personality dragged down the drain
To remind you that you can't speak well
So you'll surely utter something bad if you dare tried to speak into the mic
And so with scorn people will laugh
To remind you that it's better to lead a Calvary charge than the congregation which God wants you to take charge
To remind you that preachers, singers, givers and every enviable person out there were born
Reason they can easily make the fire burn
Telling you that the mission God wants you to do is not something you can do
You're not up to the task.
Yes it's nerves racking
.
Have you ever heard his voice?
That confirmation that you were Born to do something for him
That there are many out there to be changed when you do
You can't believe what he said
So you couldn't respond
so you ignored
You thought it over
Again you ignored

This assignment makes you fret
So You lived everyday of your life ignoring him
You gave him enough time to think about it and see how wrong you are for the task
You lived everyday thinking he might change what he said
This assignment makes you freak
Cos it means people will start looking up to you
They'll expect the best from n ignorant, novice you
Just because you are sent from God
And you wondered How you would cope with the change
When your own life's been Captured from you
When it's not about you anymore but about God's assignment
You know, you know You're not the right person

So you knelt and pleaded
Yes, several times you pleaded with the Lord to take it away from you
But he'll always say
"My soul is enough for you"
Yes, it's all you need
"For my power is made perfect in weakness

You need to know this;
God has called you
Equipped you
So he'll guide you as you take the step
(I think) His gifts are irrevocable
BUT don't let him use the stones
He doesn't call the qualified
He qualifies the called
He'll never lead you to a Stage
To make a fool of you
Nor to humiliate you
He can't push you to the edge and leave you
He'll either catch you when you fall
Or teach you how to fly"
He knows what he's doing even when you don't believe in yourself

You can't do it, yes
But, the the power of God can do it through you.
