Steemit Challenge s28wk1 : Zany And The Tiny Colored Dragon

Zany stood still as the little tiny dragon settled in her middle fingers. The dragon's scales was shimmering beautiful shades of light just like rainbow 🌈 paint and the air around her glow softly every time it moved. It finally stopped to rain but puddles along the street still shimmered just like tiny mirrors. Zany's hood dripped with water as she looked at the little creature in awe.

Without a second thought she whispered, "are you really here?"

The dragon nooded, yes nooded! and made a happy chirping sound like that of tiny bells. Zany felt warmth spread across her chest. Something she hadn't felt for a very long time. Ever since her mom left the city, zany had been lonely, like her world had been painted gray.

But this little dragon...it made everything brighter again.

"Where did you come from?" Zany asked.

The dragon fluttered its wings and gently tugged on her sleeve. Zany understood that it wanted her follow. So she took a deep breath and stepped forward. The dragon floated beside her, leaving a trail of sparkling colours in the mist.

Zany giggled softly. "I guess you really want me to go with you, right?"

They strolled to an old bridge at the extreme of the street. Fog curled around the railings like cotton candy. The dragon for ahead, then went back to her glowing brighter and brighter.

Zany sat on the edge of the bridge and looked down at the quiet river. The dragon rested gently on her shoulder humming a soft tune. Zany felt relaxed and she breathe slowly.

"You know I've been sad for quite a long time now" she whispered. "I feel like I'm not seen anymore."

The dragon turned and look at her with big shiny eyes. Then it wrapped its tail around her neck gently, just like a tiny hug.

Zany smiled faintly. "You're really sweet."

She watched the dragon's wings and suddenly had a strange thought.

"Wait" she said. "You don't look like the creatures people see when their feelings come alive. You are unique."

The dragon flewed proudly and sprinkles sparkles all over zany's hoodie.

Zany gasped. "Are you my feelings?"

The dragon chirped loudly and spinned in a colourful circle. Zany laughed for the first time in months. A warm bubble rose in her chest.

"So you came for me, because I needed you?" She asked.

The dragon landed on her hand. She felt a little thump like its tiny heartbeat matching her own.

"I thought I won't be happy again," she whispered. "But you were still there."

The dragon curled in zany's palm, glowing like a soft night-light. She stroked its head. "Thank you for coming."

They stayed on the bridge until the gray sky changed to evening blue. Zany felt peaceful, not that she's healed, but she's not floating alone anymore.

"Alright, she said at last, "will you go home with me?"

The dragon floated excitedly and spun in circles.

But then something unusual happened.

Behind the dragon, zany saw a flicker another tiny shape deep in the fog. It shined faintly, like a spark trying to awaken. She thought she saw wings.

She stepped forward. "Is that another one?"

But the shape suddenly disappeared before she could look closer. The fog closed around it like a secret.

Zany blinked. "What was that?" She said it slowly.

The dragon then curled around her wrist and snuggled against her hand, as if it's saying, don't worry, you'll find out soon.

Zany laughed softly, "you're really full of mysteries."

They begin walking home, while the tiny dragon lighting the their path with bright magical colors. It felt full of wonders.

Because if one tiny dragon could appear when she needed a friend...

Who could tell other magical things waiting for her?

As the continue walking home zany felt something she hadn't felt in a long time:
