Some things in the world make us wonder why they even exist. One of these things is Columbus Day. Columbus Day commemorates a person who was more than just an explorer.
Christopher Columbus was a genocidal imperialist who enslaved hundreds and thousands of natives in the Caribbean. He had no regard for their worth as people. All he was interested in was making money for himself.
Columbus was a businessman with great acumen. He was not a humanitarian.
This video muses about why Columbus Day is still a thing in the 21st century.
