I have not historically been a bitcoin fan but with their recent integration of SegWit and the clearing of the mempool, bitcoin fees have dropped significantly. The biggest hurdle facing it now would be the speed of transactions and scalability and that is where I feel other altcoins like Stellar Lumens and Nano can potentially pull ahead as a day to day payment solution. If that happens I would not be so sure of bitcoin retaining its market dominance.
