Golden Orb Weaver Spider on Its Web

in Beauty of Creativity15 days ago

It’s one of a good times when I have taken a few road less travelled that along the road side, we may look like a silk entombed mummy! It is great to see a small beautiful, strong, golden-coloured webs there are at the moment. It belong sto Nephila senegalensis, commonly known as the banded-legged golden orb-web spider. It gets this name because of the beautiful colour of its silk, which is believed to have a dual purpose of attracting prey like bees in the sunlight, and to form a camouflage in dense foliage. This spider can be sighted around the wood, reservoir, and the eave house where they can safely spread their web and reside at the center of the web waiting for prey to be trapped in it. The spider will leave the web in one location for they move to another location in the early season, which probably wish to find better protection or hunting. Golden Orb Weaver spider is included as common species that often attracts our attention due to its look, striking web, and colorful pattern, and relatively small size.
