The Diary Game #40 (16/05/2024): Share your day with us! My local kitchen

It was just a busy and stressful day for me as I joined the executive member of my church group in cooking our local dishes and it was save in a local hurt, since I was in team as one of my the leaders , I join them in cooking.

My day was one of the best day ever, I woke up in the morning, going to my room, it was well scattered because through our the week, I have been very busy from one church activities to another, so I don't even have time to do anything for myself, so my room was just too scattered to the extent that I couldn't overlook it.

I started by arranging all my clothes to my box, putting the church clothes separate and my important wears in was in a separate box for easy assessment.

When I was done with the dress, I arranged my shoes accordingly and then dressed my bed and I sweep the floor making sure that there's no sand and the room was well arranged.

When I was done arranging my room, I ask my son to help Clean up the house, my the time I finished the leader of my called that they needed me in church, I hurriedly dressed up and get dressed. Why all this is because we are having women's convention in church and yesterday was the 4th day.

And the 'THEME" was dare to dream more.
I'm sorry guys that I didn't invite you all, we are rounding up on Sunday with a thanks giving, so you are all invited.

I needed to be in church so early so that I can join others in putting things in place.

Since the setting was to be a local settings so we needed to build a local house, the competition was between 3 families group which make up the women in our church, the families are Ruth's family, Esther's family and DEBORAH'S family, so I belong to DEBORAH'S family.

By the time I get to the church the local house was not set, I had to go inside the bush then look for a palm fruit tree that is not tall and I ask someone to cut the leaves for me so that we can use in building the house.

After cutting it, we use the leaves to build the house and we use wrappers and cover it all round then we use local mat to spread on the grond

Since it was a local settings, everything we did was in local, the food was local and the plate was local too.

So when we were done with the building of the house we then proceed to the cooking aspect.

The local food was pounded coco yam and coco yam soup.

We make sure all the ingredients was ready before we start the cooking.

• Aduza leaves
• Meat, assorted types

Now let me explain what is the benefit of the cocoyam

This is the raw and the peal cocoyam

Cocoyam is a very delicious delicacy, it is good for diabetics patients, it clear bad sight.
It's the best food for aging people because it doesn't contain fat, it's a natural food with no preservatives.

The first step we took was to peal the cocoyam and then wash it very well to make sure that there is no sand in it, we set the firewood and lights it, the put the cocoyam in tge pot and we boil it until it became soft.

When the cocoyam was soft, we removed it from the fire and filter out the water and someone that really knows how to pound it, start pounding it until it becomes very smooth.

After pounding, before now the local plate was available so we put the pounded cocoyam in the local plate and we keep it aside.

When we were done with the pounded cocoyam, it was time to cook the soup.

In cooking of the soup, small portions or cocoyam will be pound so as to use it as thickener in the soup,

When this was done, we started first is seasoning all the different types of meat that we are going to use, we make sure we wash every part with clean water before we cook it.

When the meat was properly done, we then wash the fish.

Why we use bonegar fish is because it's a local fish, so its a must to use but still we still use a good dry fish so that it can hold the soup and make it presentable.

After washing the fish, we add it to the meat was cook and we allowed it to cook for some minute.

When the meat and the fish was properly cooked, we added all the ingredients and we allowed it to cook again for some minute and then we added the small pounded cocoyam that we pound for just the soup.

After adding it, it was cook for few minutes and before we know, the soup was thick and it was ready to be saved

We dish it out to the local plate, the same way we did with did with the pounded cocoyam.

After dishing the soup, i took it to the local house and I set the table then I use leaves to cover the plate., we wanted everything to be local, I make sure I set the table very well so that it will look ❤️ but in all local way.

When that was done, I use my juice extractor to extract juice so that my pastor's wife to drink. Why we extract juice too was because it was among the competition, and chicken pepper soup was cooked too, so that my pastor's wife can enjoy herself.

It was well arranged because even the chairs were all local too, we needed everything to match with the rules of the competition.

After dishing the food food for the pastors wife, the remaining in the pot we all join hands and eat like family and it was so delicious. This kind of food is not always common, it is a rich man food

After eating, we still join hands and drink Garry, honestly, it was fun because I really enjoyed myself and every other women enjoyed themselves as well.

Guys the funny thing is that the Garry we drank was with big cooking spoons and at the end of the day, some people drank more than me, I had to run away with the remaining Garry in the plate.

I spent my entire day in the church activities.

When were done with the presentation, I came back home very late, and I was very tired that I couldn't do much tasks on my steemit blog.
