Discovering the "Giardino Botanico Fondazione André Heller" in Gardone Riviera

I wanted to share with you a place that I believe is worth visiting if you come to Italy, especially if you have the opportunity to visit the Brescian area of Lake Garda. Here, you'll find a locality called Gardone Riviera, which is home to a botanical garden named the "Giardino Botanico Fondazione André Heller," an ideal spot for nature lovers and art enthusiasts alike.

Honestly, I've been to Gardone Riviera several times, but I never really had the time or inclination to visit this place before. Even though I consider botanical gardens important and interesting to visit, I only recently discovered that this garden hosts more than 3,000 species of plants from all over the world.

This place was created in 1988 by the artist and sculptor André Heller. Essentially, this artist wanted to create a garden where the connection between nature and art is significant, and I must say he succeeded brilliantly. Additionally, the foundation managing this place has enriched it with other works of art, including an important piece by Haring. Here, you can also find many charming little animals, including beautiful aquatic turtles.

Strolling through the garden's pathways can be a very relaxing experience. You don't necessarily have to be an art enthusiast; simply enjoying the contact with nature is enough.

If you need some information about the opening hours, the garden is mainly open during the warmer months from May to October, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The garden partially resembles a Japanese style, although it could use a bit more maintenance given the entrance fee. I definitely recommend visiting it in spring when the tulips are in bloom; it's even more beautiful then.

The only somewhat negative thing, in my opinion, is that the entrance fee seems a bit steep at 10 euros, while children pay only 5 euros. This is just my opinion, as I have visited other places in the area.
