After 27 years, Microsoft's oldest browser, Internet Explorer, is being phased out. After being released in 1995, the browser is set to be retired today.

"We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 lies in Microsoft Edge," Microsoft said in a statement provided by the firm. Microsoft Edge is not only quicker, more secure, and more modern than Internet Explorer, but it also addresses a major concern: compatibility with older, legacy websites and applications. Internet Explorer mode ("IE mode") is incorporated into Microsoft Edge, allowing you to view legacy Internet Explorer-based websites and applications directly from Microsoft Edge."

Following the announcement, the Twitter family went viral with their memes, which were both amusing and tragic in nature.
