All the love and security we long for, we find in the presence of God.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and trust in horses; and they put their hope in chariots, because they are many, and in horsemen, because they are brave; and they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor do they seek the Lord! 2 But he is also wise, and he will bring evil, and will not take back the words from him. Therefore he will rise against the house of evildoers, and against the help of those who do iniquity. 3 And the Egyptians are men, and not God; and his horses flesh, and not spirit; so that when the Lord stretches out his hand, the helper will fall and the helped will fall, and they will all faint together.
4 For the Lord said to me this way: As a lion and a lion's cub roars at its prey, and if a band of shepherds gathers against it, it will not be frightened by their voices, nor will it be dismayed by their troop. ; so the Lord of hosts will come down to fight on Mount Zion, and on the hill thereof. 5 Like birds that fly, so will the Lord of hosts protect Jerusalem, protecting, delivering, preserving and saving.

Isaiah 31:1-5

If you are a parent you must surely remember a moment in which you have sheltered and protected a child in the face of danger, or perhaps you know or have seen someone do it, in those moments the human being acquires an almost supernatural strength and does which seems impossible to protect a child. Just as parents are attentive and vigilant to protect our children, in the same way God is ready and attentive to care for and protect his children.

Throughout the entire word of God we find many different opportunities in which God's love for his children is expressed, it is compared to the love of a bird that secures its chicks under its wings for example.

In today's passage we see the picture described by Isaiah showing in some way the love of God and the time when God's people will regret seeking protection and security in anyone or any government outside of the Lord, even when His people are wrong, seeking protection in the wrong arms, God promises to always be attentive as custodian of Jerusalem from the highest places, providing protection and guarding it from destruction.

God is not intimidated by anything or anyone, nothing that terrifies us today can move God, we can have full certainty and security that God is close and ready in times of danger, His love is so great that It allows us not to fear what may happen.

Todo el amor y la seguridad que anhelamos, la hallamos en la presencia de Dios.

¡Ay de los que descienden a Egipto por ayuda, y confían en caballos; y su esperanza ponen en carros, porque son muchos, y en jinetes, porque son valientes; y no miran al Santo de Israel, ni buscan a Jehová! 2 Pero él también es sabio, y traerá el mal, y no retirará sus palabras. Se levantará, pues, contra la casa de los malignos, y contra el auxilio de los que hacen iniquidad. 3 Y los egipcios hombres son, y no Dios; y sus caballos carne, y no espíritu; de manera que al extender Jehová su mano, caerá el ayudador y caerá el ayudado, y todos ellos desfallecerán a una.
4 Porque Jehová me dijo a mí de esta manera: Como el león y el cachorro de león ruge sobre la presa, y si se reúne cuadrilla de pastores contra él, no lo espantarán sus voces, ni se acobardará por el tropel de ellos; así Jehová de los ejércitos descenderá a pelear sobre el monte de Sion, y sobre su collado. 5 Como las aves que vuelan, así amparará Jehová de los ejércitos a Jerusalén, amparando, librando, preservando y salvando.

Isaías 31:1-5

Si eres padre seguramente debes recordar un momento en el que hay resguardado y protegido a un hijo ante un peligro, o quizas sabes o haz visto a alguien hacerlo, en esos momentos el ser humano adquiere una fuerza casi sobrenatural y hace lo que parece imposible por proteger a un hijo. Así como los padres estamos atentos y vigilantes para proteger a nuestros hijos, de la misma manera Dios está presto y atento para cuidar y guardar a sus hijos.

A lo largo de toda la palabra de Dios encontramos muchas y diferentes oportunidades en las que se expresa el amor de Dios para con sus hijos, se compara como el amor de un ave que asegura sus polluelos debajo de sus alas por ejemplo.

En el pasaje de hoy vemos el cuadro descrito por Isaías mostrando de alguna manera el amor de Dios y el tiempo en que el pueblo de Dios lamentará buscar protección y seguridad en alguien o en algun gobierno fuera del Señor, aún cuando su pueblo esté equivocado, buscando protección en los brazos errados, Dios promete estar siempre atento como custodio de Jerusalén desde los lugares mas altos brindando protección y guardándola de la destrucción.

Dios no es intimado por nada ni nadie, nada de lo que hoy nos aterroriza puede mover a Dios, podemos tener la plena certeza y seguridad que Dios está cercano y presto en momento de peligro, Su amor es tan grande que nos permite no temer lo que pueda suceder.
