RE: @haejin

in #thisisfun6 years ago

I'm still kind of new to steam, but I'm starting to realize a lot of people don't upvote for quality content but to get a good curation reward. That's the case of people upvoting haejin, they want curation rewards, they could care less about the content.

Sort:

Its all for the money, everywhere, blockchain, etc. is just s gimmick. paid bots, paid votes, whales/programmers helping friends, someone wishes happy new year or a hot pose pic, makes 1000z, but if research for hours on a topic, write a post, u get 0 to a few cents..

Ha, ha,ha thats true.

The steemit crew could probably iterate more to test out different incentives for good content. But... They makin bank so fuck it right? lol

If you are not a hot chick, If you are not a programmer, If you are not a friend or related with a whale, If you dont have a huge following on social media, then you are a looser.. You can never make big bucks on steemit, especially now, as there has been a huge traffic.

Trust me, the day FB starts paying for likes, you will see everyone who hates FB here, will go back there.

I still wonder how some of the alternate media youtubers get the money to travel the world? Is it that the fear mongers pay big buck just like the elites pay CNN?

Facebook wouldn't ever do it. The problem with incentivized social media is that people are fake. It's hard to bring in a large active audience because everyone is incentivized to kiss ass or regurgitate the site's favorable opinion on something. It's not a place people want to go for good discussion, so there will always be a place for sites like reddit or facebook when people want things to be real.

This is totally true - I'm 100% real, and this is mostly annoying to people or offends them ... they want more cat pics, more pics of semi-naked women (or men) ... and more pabulum about how cryptos will take over the universe.

We dont know what FB is planning, but its a great step towards universal income, and makin mark far more rich. However here just made a post regarding this.

Very good point..

Don't forget the Comcast/ MSNBC media whores like lesbian social justice warrior propagandist David Pakman etc bringing their dumbed down minions to flood the space with mainstream brainwashing trash content.

Inb4 everyone just uploads a woman's photo for their profile for upvotes

Exactly. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that first paragraph is about how it goes. If you are a blogger it doesn't matter as much monetarily because it's a hobby you enjoy, money can ruin a good thing if you let it, as long as I don't invest any personal income to build up a false premise it's all good for now here. I stay active where my hobby matters most that's counts the most.

Exactly what you said. But sometimes non sense post becomes viral. So what is the buttom line here? What is more important, the number of upvotes or the value of post?

I think that's just how society is in general (especially here in the US). People can work hard and be passionate about something and get ignored. Make/say something dumb or triggering = all the attention in the world

Its so sad, somebody that somebodhad spent three hours writing a post then get few votes then the other steemian just posted an image has garnered number of votes and comments. What can we do, thats the law of life. ALWAYS HIT THE NAIL.

Imagine, the top steemians here are ok with it.. And they say its proper wealth distribution..

people don't upvote for quality content but to get a good curation reward.

erm.. ¿seriously?

Nonsense I upvote at least 60% curation 40% content. I take offence. :)

Hahaha yeah @penderis!, the offense of having to build a chicken coop every time we visit the trending & hot pages on steemit. }:)

True, there is a possiblilty of someone paying to some chick for posing or programming, etc. and making big bucks.. Also there is a chance of hidden bots specially made by and for whales and programmers.

Both are the cases in question here @veerall. Because clearly none of that 'elite' usually highlighted on the trending page, showing those unnaturally inflated earnings figures on their content there, would be happy having to solve first a challenging puzzle like this below to justify deserve such amount of do$h. }:)

So off topic, but this puzzle is by far the funniest thing I have seen all day!

Rightly so @crystalize. ¿Could you imagine anything more so off topic than have a good laugh while checking the trending page on steemit? }:)

I would have never dreamed it possible, yet it happened! I need to get that puzzle!

Ah great mate! And since in your introduceyourself post you've said that you have a sense of humor. Then, you are actually one of my team. If we were closer geographically. I would lend you my own puzzle to test your eyes sharpness right away. :)

I have a few obsessive-compulsive family members who need this puzzle as a Christmas gift next year. I won't hear from them again until May!

Hahaha.. good one.

Yep this so true. Dunno if the devs care how to design incentives for quality content though.
