This is pretty cool - how did I find it?

Finding interesting people/posts using Resteems by the accounts you follow.

Well first, let me tell you where I didn't find this Photomosaic made of 300,800 Steemit avatars, it wasn't here:

Sorry busy.org, but this is a bit crap

And the reason it wasn't here:

tamin:

steemtrail:

macksby:

Should I go on?

craig-grant:

And yes these are posts, by the fantastic content creator, everittdmickey:

There is nothing interesting here, and virtually none of it is recent. We can do better than this!

How about a feed relating to Resteems by the people you follow? I know of accounts that only Resteem, @welcoming is there to resteem new users, and @riseofth tends to resteem a lot of Steem related content. But what about a personalised feed like this, perhaps ordered by number of Resteems?

This is how my feed would look if Resteems from the past 24 hours were used and ordered by number of Resteems:

Seems that the accounts I follow like Steem, and apps... Good! Cause that's what I like too. I want to see what Steem power-players @nathanmars and @theycallmedan are talking about, and I want to see what the latest apps are up to.

Meanwhile on @steempeak:

And @steeveapp looks to be on the right track..

Steeve is powered by an AI engine, which learns your taste from your past activity on the blockchain - what kind of posts you upvote, comment, resteem, who you follow, etc. source

This looks and sounds promising, but do you think there is scope for 'Popular Resteems by Follows' also?

Perhaps the total SteemPower held by the people Resteeming the post could be used, or the number of comments that the post has, or you could only show posts from accounts you are not already following. I like 'Resteems' as the base metric for feeding content, and don't think it would be difficult to develop at all.

If you want a list of links based on your follows Resteems let me know - I'll bet you a STEEM it's better than 'Interesting people'.

Cheers

Asher

Just think if I wouldn't have been following you I wouldn't have seen this amazing profile picture.

hahahaha!!!

Epic!

And the croc having a nip and the errr, nips to the left. You are surrounded by nakedness!

@abh12345, In my opinion only Manually we can discover interesting content because content is emotions and emotions never come under any Mechanism. But good to go through from this post because you've spread light upon interesting subject. Keep up brother.

Yes you are right. I have some plans to issue the ENGAGE token, and it will require manual intervention.

Good wishes from my side brother and bring more use cases for ENGAGE Tokenised Ecosystem.

Well.. it's true... I got everything from C-square resteems and all arts and you win 😂

Surely there’s interesting possibilities combining your feed, @steem-ua, and @steeveapp for resteems.

It would bring the early days of Twitter and the FB feed back, when a share was a real “currency”, increased visibility. That part which keeps the internet both connected and afloat... links. Before it gave the rise to more services.

It could make for an interesting tab in an interface. If then an interface would also include a sidechain powering ads and sharing the revenue of those ads 70/30 with creators we could find a much fairer distribution based on content value.

As well as also see more stealth transfers to “power players” again. But this time they wouldn’t necessarily be whales due to the integration of Steem-UA. Most would have built their score on content/curation value too and would probably disappoint many a sender.

I do appreciate the work done with steem-ua, but I'm not sure it's quite there yet. However, with the 'do i follow the person Resteeming', not including these in the count would help avoid seeing stuff from high Reps who haven't been of interest so far (and likely never will).

That feed above has kept me busy for way longer than I expected!

I may be able to develop something that does this. My browser extension - Steemfeed - already allows you to show only resteems in your feed (as well as allowing you to hide them). It should be possible to allow sorting by any number of conditions (resteems, comments, votes etc). The only challenging part will be how to display it, as it would probably be very challenging to maintain the native formatting of the steem frontend you are on. (Steemfeed currently works on Steemit.com and steempeak.com). Would probably require showing the results in a new tab with custom formatting. That's not hard to do, as steemfeed does that already, it's just that it would be great if the sorting could be carried out directly on the frontend's output.

I'm not sure if showing authors that were Resteemed a lot recently (by your followers) like busy.org would be easier than showing the articles themselves.

it's just that it would be great if the sorting could be carried out directly on the frontend's output.

But the popularity count or other sorting metric would need to be done at the back, from the chain or hivemind, SQL, etc?

The code to get the authors requires getting the posts first. So there's no extra effort involved in retrieving the posts.

I've just put a question into the steemdev discord to try and find out what the method is to find the number of reblogs a post has had. I can't find it with the javascript methods I know. Once I have that (assuming it is possible), I can quickly modify my extension to show the posts sorted in a new tab. I'll let you know if I achieve it, and you can try it out and see if it does what you are after.

You just made me have an idea...

Poor search functionality is probably why steem is dropping down the Alexa rankings.

Google punishes sites that fail to provide relevant content (one indication of which is a hight bounce rate.)

It's the reason I don't link back to main blog.. I am 100% certain anything with a steeemit/ prefix is flagged on google as low relevance.

It's possibly something that needs more priority. All of these social media campaigns are pointless if google's not indexing steem effectively.

Maybe, just a theory.

Anything that can help better direct people and improve bounce should improve visibility.

hmm. I have found good as one of the better ways to search for content, but I'm not sure how 'bounce' works. Is it a worse case scenario if the page is loaded, then no more links are clicked and it's closed?

When searching I normally have an idea of the persons username - I guess many would not and just be seeking content.

Also, I read a while back that the indexer works better if you use HTML instead of the fancy new script, so < h1 > is better than a #. That was from Jerry though so...

That'd bounce yes... that's an interesting point about html.

I now write my posts in WPress and then cut paste them across to steem - it works pretty well but I had notice it codes it differently.

Sounds like a good idea to me they could call it the FAR list for Follower Active Resteems. But then someone would want to see just resteems for today and demand a FART tab, so maybe a different name now that I think about it for a bit.

hahaha :D :D

I Like FAR! Not so sure about FART though :D

Of course. How is Spain?

Windy!

Back on the Island again, it could be worse but I was looking forward to earning a bit of cash :)
