TS Contest | My experience as a traveller

Hi everyone I am glad to participate in this contest organized by one of the moderator of this community. Traveling is another aspect of way of life where we appreciate new thing we have never set our eyes on. Today I would like to write about my traveling experience and I hope we are going to learn from each other.

What can you say about your life as a traveller, do you enjoy travelling or not.

I always enjoy traveling because it is one of my favorite hobbies. Traveling from one state to another within Nigeria helps me gain more experience. Nigeria consists of different tribes with unique cultural heritage. I can say that we have over 200 tribes, each of them has a beautiful culture they are still practicing today. Traveling is amazing, particularly at night when private and commercial vehicles move freely without experiencing any traffic congestion. If I had the opportunity, I would like to travel all around the world, as knowing their way of life is the most important thing I find interesting.

Write about 2 or 3 places that you have travelled to recently, I mean your overall experience during those trips.

I have traveled to different places and I have learned new things I have never learned before. Most of my travel is within Nigeria.

Firstly, I traveled all the way from Kwara to Kano state for my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). It's a one-year program where the federal government makes it compulsory for fresh graduates students from any Nigerian University. Certificates will be issued after they finish the service. Upon my arrival at the camp, I met new people with different cultural identities. Most of these cultures were showcased during the passing out parade.

I tried to learn their language, but with God's grace, I learnt a little and I make uses of it whenever I wanted to buy goods from them. The mode of their dressing is fantastic, their major food includes Tuwo shinkafa, waina, gurasa, suya, and others. Each of these foods tastes nice. They are the largest commercial center in the northern part of the country. The most popular center where they sell different varieties of clothes is called Kwari Market.

Secondly, I visited Abeokuta in the southwestern part of the country for excursion. This happened during my undergraduate study. We visited Aro Neuropsychiatric Hospital. This place has been in existence for a long time. The main purpose of this center is to treat people who are suffering from mental disorders. As a student, most of the things we were taught in class as theory, we saw the life experiences in the center as a form of practical aspect, and it is the kind of experience I will never forget in my life.

"Travelling exposes us to new adventures." What can you say about this statement.

To me, travelling is necessary. If we stayed in one place, we would not have the opportunity to know some other places and their way of life. Although travelling is risky and offers different opportunities, once we have a strong mind and determination coupled with prayer, we will arrive at the destination we have been dreaming of. Travelling is the best moments and happiest days of my life because it exposes me to new things.

We have different purposes when it comes to traveling. Some travel for business or connections, while others travel for vacation so that they can enjoy their lives to the fullest. Traveling is the best adventure to enjoy cool weather and appreciate natural or artificial creations that are put in place.

Tell us the one place that you would love to spend the Easter holiday or a place that you want to travel to before the end of the year.

The place I want to travel to before the end of this year is Kebbi State because they organize a fishing festival known as Argungu festival. I used to watch the program on television. I want to witness this event with my own two eyes so that I can write it down in my diary and also narrate what I see to friends and family. I heard that no fisherman is allowed to catch any fish in that river for the period of one year, when the festival is around the corner they will make announcements on radio and television. Gifts are available for fishermen who catch the big fish 🐟 after weighing it on a scale. It's an interesting festival where many people from outside Nigeria cover the event. It's a nice place to visit to enjoy a good quality of life.

Conclusion

Traveling is so interesting, especially when you know how to communicate with other tribes. In fact, it's one of the best moments where we gain a lot in terms of culture and relationships with them. I would like to invite @mdkamran99, @mostofajaman and @max-pro to participate in this contest.
